Dh and I had a great time on my birthday!  We haven't had alone time like  that forever.  It was much needed. I am feeling refreshed from it all!  I came home to a house fully decorated and some family waiting for us to arrive!  My 13 year old threw a little suprise party for me.  She had baked a cake and made snacks even.  SO SWEET!  Of course my 2 year old had one side of the cake naked of frosting by then- but that is to be expected at our house. LOL!

So the boy decided he was up for good at 1am this morning and couldn't be convinced otherwise until 3am. He can say a sentence.  Doesn't speak nearly as well as the girls did by his age, but he can say a sentence already.  It is "AH wa da ball" Which is what he said to me when I went in to see what he was screaming about.  He is teething- which I am sure is the real problem- but Colin thought the real problem was that he needed a ball.

 Colin: "Ball!"  

Mommy "No ball"

Colin "Ah wa da ball!"

Mommy "no ball"

And he proceeds with a kicking and screaming tantrum.

I gave him tylenol, changed his diaper, tried rocking him, tried a bottle but the only way the kid was happy was sittin on my lap watching Top Chef at 2am this morning.  I even let him cry for 10 minutes and I am not into the whole CIO thing.  It was awful.  I was so tired when I woke up this morning that I could have cried!!!! I am feeling better now that I have some coffee down- but I am out of practice on the up all night up all day thing.  He was a horrible sleeper for the first 10 months of his life but has been good for quite some time now. I was a pro at functioning on 2-3 hours a sleep and working a 9 hour day- but I am certainly feeling it today!

Kaydence and Colin share a room.  Poor girl just wanted to keep sleeping this morning when it was time to get them up and going.  I feel bad for her.  She would have been able to sleep if they didn't share rooms- but that is the way it is, and I don't see a bigger house in our near future.
