  • Time for some bloggity goodness!

I have not blogged in a long, long, time!  I thought I better make my way back here and check on some blogs I used to read, and I also think it would be good for me to get back to blogging.

Let's see- what has changed since October of 2007?  My girls are 13 and 3 now, and my boy is 21 months.  They are amazingly beautiful, smart, happy little children.  I have reached my weight loss goal for the most part, gone crazy regarding politics, completed home improvement projects, wiped butts, wiped noses, helped to make my boss a wealthy man- the usual!

Starting tomorrow- I shall blog again.

  • Dh and I had a great time on my birthday!  We haven't had alone time like  that forever.  It was much needed. I am feeling refreshed from it all!  I came home to a house fully decorated and some family waiting for us to arrive!  My 13 year old threw a little suprise party for me.  She had baked a cake and made snacks even.  SO SWEET!  Of course my 2 year old had one side of the cake naked of frosting by then- but that is to be expected at our house. LOL!

I will post some pics of our weekend soon!

  • Went out for drinks with co workers last night for my up and coming birthday.  I am so hungover today it reminds me why I don't care to drink.  Ugh.  I feel like crap!

  • Ball! No. Insert tantrum here

So the boy decided he was up for good at 1am this morning and couldn't be convinced otherwise until 3am. He can say a sentence.  Doesn't speak nearly as well as the girls did by his age, but he can say a sentence already.  It is "AH wa da ball" Which is what he said to me when I went in to see what he was screaming about.  He is teething- which I am sure is the real problem- but Colin thought the real problem was that he needed a ball.

     Colin: "Ball!"

    Mommy "No ball"

    Colin "Ah wa da ball!"

    Mommy "no ball"

And he proceeds with a kicking and screaming tantrum.

I gave him tylenol, changed his diaper, tried rocking him, tried a bottle but the only way the kid was happy was sittin on my lap watching Top Chef at 2am this morning.  I even let him cry for 10 minutes and I am not into the whole CIO thing.  It was awful.  I was so tired when I woke up this morning that I could have cried!!!! I am feeling better now that I have some coffee down- but I am out of practice on the up all night up all day thing.  He was a horrible sleeper for the first 10 months of his life but has been good for quite some time now. I was a pro at functioning on 2-3 hours a sleep and working a 9 hour day- but I am certainly feeling it today!

Kaydence and Colin share a room.  Poor girl just wanted to keep sleeping this morning when it was time to get them up and going.  I feel bad for her.  She would have been able to sleep if they didn't share rooms- but that is the way it is, and I don't see a bigger house in our near future.

  • So next weekend is my 32nd birthday.  Dh and I have planned an overnight getaway alone!  I am super excited.  We will be going up to Dubuque to stay in this old Inn. I am packing a picnic basket and we are going to head out early in the morning.  We will stop for lunch in a pretty park on the way there.  Then we will check in and head to Galena!  We plan to tour a family owned vineyard in Galena and participate in a wine tasting. Then we are going to take a horse drawn carriage ride.   After that we will eat in this Italian Restaurant- and probably head back towards Dubuque.  Their are casinos there and we may hit one of those- I have never gambled before so I would like to throw $20.00 at a slot machine.  We have not been away from the kids for this amount of time before though, and I have some anxiety about that.  My sister will be staying at our house to care for them. I know they will be fine- but I am a worry wart.

The leaves this time of year around the Mississippi are soooo breathtaking!  I can't wait to experience it all.  Every year we go to the Marquette/Mcgregor/Prairie Du chein area to see the leaves.  I love it there.  So beautiful!

Colin and Kaydee were so much fun last night.  We were playing ball and they just had a blast!  IT is fun to see them play together.

Well that is all from me today!  Off to your sites I go!
